This coffee pot is a variation in the shape of the traditional Moka Pot, but works on the same scientific principle. Moka Pot is directly placed over stove-top over moderate flame, and boiling water forces its way upwards from the lower vessel to the upper vessel through the tightly packed layer of coffee powder, propelled by steam. The brew accummulates in the upper vessel in a ready to pour state. Moka Pot gives coffee stronger than the traditional South Indian Filter Coffee Percolator (which isn't directly placed over stove top, and where hot water poured percolates down from the upper vessel to the lower vessel through a tightly packed coffee layer by gravity alone), or the French Press Coffee Maker. But Moka Pot's coffee is less strong than that made in Espresso Machine or the Aeropress. Moka Pot requires some skill to make perfect brew.
